UPDATE: Thumper is fine. The vet wants him to come back for another echocardiogram in six months, but they found no structural damage to his heart. Yayyyy! Thank you for your comments and well-wishes – I’m sure the furball appreciates them in his own way.
Today I’m playing the waiting game.
We dropped Thumper off at the vet this morning for an echocardiogram (an ultrasound of the heart used to screen for heart disease), since his appointment last week revealed a small murmur. The vet, totally nonplussed as Thumper attempted to melt into the table, assured me that it is most likely nothing – heart murmurs are very common in cats and are not necessarily indicators that anything is wrong.
But still.
It could be something. Our first cat, the inimitable Tigger, had a heart murmur, and he did have heart disease.
So the logical response to feeling stressed about Thumper’s test is to buy out the Joann’s remnants bin. Clearly.
At least I have plenty to keep me busy while we wait for the call to pick him up.

I hope you kitty is okay! I think fabric therapy is one of the best kinds!
